To its devoted inhabitants and annual pilgrims, it's affectionately known as "The Rock."

This is where my story begins, where the chapters of my life unfolded, and where I found the roots of my identity.

When spring graces Hydra with its presence, the island bursts into vibrant hues, casting a verdant spell over its landscape.

A lush, green paradise emerges, and it's easy to believe that this is the island's true form.

HYDRA MULES, NOTHING WOULD GET DONE WITHOUT THEM

But as the sun's embrace grows more intense, the magic of transformation unfolds.

Summer arrives, and the island sheds its spring attire. The once lush vegetation gives way to a rugged beauty.

Bramble bushes, withered by the sun's relentless heat, now stand sharp as tiny blades, ready to cut sun-dried skin like parchment.

This metamorphosis is nothing short of mesmerizing.
